A. Well since we have now gone to a much more efficient online booking system and there is no way of collecting all the old advertizing still out there. I would suggest as the call use will advise Go to our web site and click the "Buy Ticket" there you will receive our schedule to pick your date and will also pay and get confirmation.
A.OPC Open to Public is for anyone that wishes to attend . Private cruise's are cruises reserved for only invited guest of the reservoirs .
A. Go to the Buy Ticket at top of most pages and click.
A. If you are a few then you want the OPC Open to Public, once online select the number of tickets and enter remember to click the save button on each screen. If you completed the reservations correct you will receive an email, if you don't receive the email then you did't do something correct: start over.
If you want a private excursion click green button and select type of private excursion and enter just (1) ticket, you are purchasing just one 2 hour cruise(not number of persons attending)
A. The excursion its self has not changed it format, still trawl and biologist explain all the creatures, you just don't get to eat the free shrimp.
A. Good question we are asked about a lot, Our vessel has been scaled down to the smallest size trawl to alleviate the unwanted destruction of bycatch. Everything caught is returned to the sea. However remember a small fish life goal is to be eaten by a larger fish so we can eat the larger fish. or so the poor hungry pelicans, seagulls can have something to eat also.
As can be seen there is no waste of bycatch due to other hungry sea creatures
A. We would like to let you keep them however we are governed by the Georgia Dept of Natural Resources and operate under there Scientific Species Permitting . Under there rules we are not allowed to keep or cook the fresh caught shrimp.
A. We never operate in rough waters, part of the reasoning for the DNR permit is so we don't have to take you out in the rough waters.
A. All cruises are approximately 2hrs port to port. , due to strong head tides and wind it my varies.
A. In coastal Georgia the weather change/summer showers come and go very fast lasting only a few minutes. If needed we will delay departure and still have full experience.
SO Just because you see a cloud on St. Simon Island don't assume there is bad weather.
A. It probably not going to take all eight persons to attend to your son. If you are calling 48 hours prior to event we will reschedule you and your son for a later trip however the other are not refundable or transferable . We are limited by USCG to limited passengers thereby others who would have attended are not provided the opportunity.
A. You are correct however the Georgia Dept. of Natural Resources Mr. Pat Gear, advised us that the Georgia Shrimpin Alliance Committed had recommended that we not be allowed to keep any fresh caught shrimp for on board consumption. So we have to deposit the dead shrimp back into the water.
A. YES The above limitations are on fresh caught shrimp only. We can purchase shrimp from other sources and provide them for your private group party. We need only have proof of purchase on board.
A. This fun and educational excursion is for all ages, We see small children that are apprehensive and by the end of the trip there up to there elbows.
A. Casual with soft sole shoes.
A. Yes you can bring any beverage, however please don't provide it to any under age passengers.
A. Hang up and read the web sites eight pages with photos and videos, then if your confused call us and we will try to explain it.
Yes, Once you have purchased online you will receive confirmation notice at your listed email address, upon arrival for your event stop in the gift shop and exchange you confirmation for a boarding pass (you will not be allowed on board with out the boarding pass)
